Thinking

Hello, and welcome

As you, the reader, probably already noticed, we finally opened up our blog. It marks also the two year anniversary of the company, and hopefully sets the tone for years to come.

Apart from the things we’ve found on the internet, we’ll have some interesting content lined up: I’ll be reflecting the past two years and what we’ve learned, writing a little something about the future and our advisor and strategist Panu will be discussing the strategic design leadership based on his past years at Nokia. And I’m sure the other brilliant minds at NK will chip in as well. We’ve set out to start a public dialogue on many things, and are looking forward your response on our thoughts.

So basically, this blog is an experiment to go along, and also a way for us to give back and interact with the community out there.  Technically the blog will have two distinct sections, named for now the Feeds and Thinking. First part, the Feeds, is a public notebook that’s being pulled automatically from our collective micro blogs and linkfeeds. The alpha testing has proved that if something that’s relevant to us pops out there, it will most likely pop early in here as well. The second part, Thinking is more focused group effort to write our insights and opinions into themed, tangible posts which hopefully stir some discussion as well. We don’t believe in corporate walls so all opinions there are the poster’s own and at the same time represent our collective view on the world.

So there. Glad you popped in, please let us know how this all goes, by comments or by email. In case you were wondering, we’re on Twitter, Vimeo et al as well… and that stuff will most likely be featured here in the future too. We live in exciting and challenging times, but one thing you should always remember is the future is what you make of it. We intend on making ours bright.

NK,

Congratulations for your new site. I like the visuals, layout, navigation, case studies. Well done, and hopefully you can push out good stuff through this blog. Finnish interaction design scene is still young and there aren’t many good IxD blogs around to follow.

I’d like to read more about your methodology. The “How we do it” section is still pretty thin, but maybe you’re planning to expand it over time. I suspect that people both familiar and unfamiliar with IxD will want to know in more detail, how you work. For example, how you integrate into agile dev teams.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks,
Petteri

Thanks for the kind words!

It’s been a ride, and as you guessed, our aim is to grow and evolve the website AND share more about how we work and what we’ve discovered. Topics will probably cover interaction design as a fairly large craft / toolkit -context, design thinking, experiences and whatnot.

Our main intent is to open up and share as much as possible to help the craft or IxD and the business as a whole grow in Finland. The language will be mostly English, so maybe we’ll manage to get a voice outside the Finnish community as well:)

Fabian

A short one.

Congratulations for deniably the most beautiful and enjoyable site in the Finnish digital media/marketing -industry.

Looking forward to read your blog – and I’m sure it will be an active one.
